Liam Mulligan.

Co-Founder & Co-Head Coach

  • Liam Mulligan has been coaching competitive CrossFit since co-founding GRIT with Reilly in 2019. He is the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach of a top Brisbane high school, and he also works with a variety of National and International athletes, coaching multiple individual & team CrossFit athletes to CrossFit Semifinals.

    A former footballer (soccer), Liam played football semi-professionally, both in the United Kingdom and Australia before sustaining a career ending injury in 2014. Since then, Liam has found other ways to maintain a high fitness threshold by regularly participating in CrossFit, Olympic Weightlifting, and Martial Arts such as Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

    He has coached numerous athletes to compete in multiple World Championships and Commonwealth Games, across a variety of sports including Swimming, Triathlon, Karate, Ocean Ski Kayaking, and Surf Life Saving to name a few.

Reilly Smith.

Co-Founder & Co-Head Coach

  • Reilly Smith is an experienced CrossFit coach that has been training and developing competitive athletes for 12 years. Along with his coaching, he is a high performing athlete, competing at a regionals and the Oceania Semifinals for CrossFit, and an international level for Weightlifting.

    ​He began his journey as a CrossFitter and weightlifter at the age of 16, after experiencing excessive injuries in rugby league. Since then, he has won the Junior Australian Weightlifting Championships (2016) and placed third at both the Senior Queensland and Australian Weightlifting Championships (2018). He has also competed at the 2018 Pacific Regionals, the 2019 Down under Championships and the 2023 Torian Pro.

    Currently, Reilly is an Exercise Physiologist working In London and training both competitive and recreational athletes.
